Ian

Best young Italian wine correspondent

During the
past Vinitaly, on Friday March 30th, the awards
cerimony of the Comitato Grandi Cru d'Italia took
place in the prestigious setting of the Gran Guardia.
The
association includes over 130 of Italy's very best wine
estates all of which have in common at least 20 years of
winemaking history and being repeat high scoring performers
over the years in major magazines and wine guides.
The awards
were presented by the Comitato President, Piero Antinori,
and Vice President Paolo Panerai.
Many
prestigious nominees such as Decanter, the Revue
du Vin de France and more, with Jancis Robinson
speaking as the guest of honour. Amongst the winners,
James Suckling (Best foreign wine correspondent for the
Wine Spectator), Daniele Cernilli (Best
Italian wine correspondent fro the Gambero Rosso),
The Wine Spectator (Best foreign wine magazine),
Gambero Rosso (Best Italian wine magazine), Anthony
Galloni (Best young foreign wine correspondent for
Robert Parker's The Wine Advocate), our very own Ian
D'Agata, voted Best young Italian wine correspondent for
Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (under 45
